About SCS Thirsk

A family-run scrap metal business serving North Yorkshire since 1920.

Our Story

Over 100 Years of Service

SCS Thirsk has been buying and recycling scrap metal from our yard at Junction Works, Carlton Miniott, near Thirsk, since 1920. Now in our fourth generation, we remain a family-run business committed to offering a fair, friendly and reliable service to our customers.

Over the decades, we’ve grown from a small scrap metal yard into a full-service recycling operation handling everything from individual bags of copper to large-scale site and farm clearances. What hasn’t changed is our straightforward approach: bring us your scrap metal, we’ll weigh it on our certified weighbridge, and pay you a fair price.
